How These Companies Pay Me to Blog
Hey blogger. Are you having a tough time finding great brands to work with you? Maybe you think you’re too small or don’t have enough traffic or social media followers. Well, I’m going to show you that you can book paid gigs with brands to sponsor your blog at any size. Read on to learn how these companies pay me to blog.
What’s Sponsored Blogging?
It means that you get paid by a company to put their name on your site. This could be you running a giveaway for them, reviewing one of their products, featuring them in your newsletter, etc. There are a bunch of different ways you can do it.
Why Do It?
It’s fresh content for your blog. You get to share some cool companies with your readers AND you get paid to do so! Now, not all sponsorship gigs are free. Some may be totally unpaid but maybe you are an affiliate or perhaps you get free product in exchange for feature. A sponsorship isn’t only valuable when you get payment.
Here are some cool ways to get unpaid gigs:
Work with a mattress company that supplies you with a brand new King Size mattress in exchange for your video review
Get one year FREE email subscription service for your blog in exchange for a feature on homepage
$50 credit every month for an entire year to a grocery delivery service in exchange for ongoing features
These perks sounds great, don’t they? I mean, a free mattress, a subscription service that you’d be paying for, now free AND $50 in groceries every month. Pretty incredible huh.
This is just the tip of the iceberg. The relationships that you develop will lead you to more opportunities and perhaps paid gigs in the future.
Sponsorships as Your Bread and Butter
You can go from earning zero to making a full time blogging income with sponsorships alone. But, it’s all about balance.
First and foremost, you don’t want to sacrifice your integrity and the quality of your blog for money. These companies wanna work with you because your audience is loyal, they listen to you, they take your advice, etc. You could lose ALL THAT if you do too many sponsorships. Why? Because nobody wants to be sold to all the time. Plain and simple.
At the same time, don’t ignore this opportunity. It can be quite lucrative.
I see bloggers making $7K-$10K per month from 1 or 2 sponsorships per month!
You can definitely achieve this.
Take this example:
Say you’re a small blogger and you charge $200 per sponsorship. If you book 6 in the month, that’s $1,200!
What if you sell half basic sponsorships and half upgraded ($400 sponsorships). That’s $1,800!
What if you negotiate a long term deal, like instead of one post at $200, 12 posts throughout the year for $100 each and then you do this with 3 companies. That’s a cool $3,600!
The options and the opportunities are endless.
What’s this influencer marketing stuff?
Influencer marketing is taking off! It’s booming in 2018 and you don’t want to miss out.
How can small bloggers benefit?
Don’t let your size or status hold you back. If you are new to blogging or have a small audience, you can STILL get paid gigs.
If you don’t feel confident, fake it!
Approach companies, introduce yourself, pitch, and wait for reply.
Spin any negatives into positives. Like instead of calling yourself small, say that you have a tightknit community of loyal readers who follow your blog. See how that works.
