Jumping on the Make Money Bandwagon
Lets cut to the chase. You’re ready to make money. Here’s how you do it:
- Sponsored content
- Creating your own products
- Affiliate marketing
Making Moolah with Sponsored Content
This is so easy, friend. You work with sponsors that pay you to blog! That’s it. Here’s how you do it:
- Cold pitching
With networks, you join these companies and they help to match you with brands that will pay you to blog. Some other things you might do for sponsorship might include: hosting a giveaway, video demonstration, social blast to your followers, email to your subscribers.
After you sign up, you either check the site periodically for opportunities you can apply to OR you’ll get emails when opportunities are open, then you apply. In either case, if you are matched, you’ll hear from the network with the details: brand name, compensation, requirements, timeline, etc. Then you go through with the sponsorship and get paid!
With cold pitching, you kind of take all the above into your own hands. You research companies to work with, that are a great fit with your audience, you contact them, negotiate the details, then run the sponsorships and get paid!
Which option do I recommend?
I am a big fan of cold pitching. If you’re interested, check out my course, Sponsored Blogging for Newbies. It’s normally $197 but currently 81% OFF! No coupon code required.
This will show you how to effectively book campaigns with both networks and through cold pitching. I’ve made hundreds and thousands with sponsorships on brand new blogs (under 6 months old with low traffic). It can be done!
Creating your OWN products for money
Now THIS is where the money is, in blogging. Out of all the categories, you will absolutely make the most money with your own products.
How you do it?
You need to create a product that solves a problem. What’s been bugging your audience? What do they need help with? Can you solve their problem? If you can, then make your product.
Common products with bloggers are ebooks, courses, guides, and printables.
These digital products are easy because you can literally create your product using a word processing software like MS Word, upload it to a digital delivery program like Sendowl which will automatically deliver your product to customers when they buy.
You can also send physical products: tshirts, mugs, apparel, footwear, home goods, etc.
Don’t hesitate here. If there is a problem you can solve for your audience, then do it! Start creating your product.
Affiliate Marketing Money
With affiliate marketing, you are selling someone else’s product. When a sale is made, you get a commission. You might not think there’s money in this, but there ABSOLUTELY IS! This blogger makes $50K per month just from affiliate marketing. Many more bloggers are earning just as much or more with affiliate marketing.
Here’s how to do it:
1.) Join affiliate programs
2.) Add your links everywhere (in posts, in newsletters, on your social media, etc.)
3.) Monitor results and edit as needed
Okay, so it’s not actually that simple.
Affiliate Marketing is my favorite way to monetize but there is a bit of a learning curve (like anything in the blogging world). If you really wanna increase your results, check out Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing course, which walks you through how to make A LOT of money with affiliate marketing.
Another resource I highly recommend is Ashli’s Cracking the Code ebook. She earns $5K-$7K from affiliate marketing, from one program, that’s kinda tough to crack but she has, and teaches her strategy in the book. Very good!
Making Money with Ads
Ads are probably the VERY EASIEST way to make money blogging. You practically have to do nothing to earn with them, except drive traffic.
The more traffic you get, the better your ads will do (likely). Once you hit 25,000 sessions per month, you can join Mediavine. Once you hit 100K page views monthly, you can join Adthrive.
These networks will truly transform your ad revenue.
Start with Google Adsense and Media.net. Add an ad in your sidebar and then place a few within your post. You can do this automatically with the Adsense WP plugin on WordPress.
So you see, it’s not that hard to make money blogging as a beginner. Don’t hesitate. My biggest tip is to get started now! Pull the trigger and dive in to monetizing your blog!
